This training session is designed as a comprehensive induction into the adoption of the Harken LokHead™ Winch into work practices using nationally recognised principles for training and assessment.

Course delivery by authorised Australasian Harken Safety & Rescue  dealer

This training does not replace any Legislated requirements for Nationally Recognised Qualifications and/or licencing arrangements for Dogging or Rigging.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 4 Hours

There are no prerequisite requirements 

Refer to your Company P&P & your local Safety Regulator for hauling/lifting operations

1.   Prepare Harken LokHead™ Winch & ancillary rigging equipment for use

1.1 Identify and report potential workplace health and safety hazards

1.2 Conduct routine pre-operational checks as described in operator manual

1.3 Replace and/or report damaged or worn components

1.4 Select and use appropriate personal protective equipment

1.5 Set up ancillary rigging equipment and check for correct operation

2.   Safely operate Harken LokHead™ Winch and ancillary rigging equipment

2.1 Operate Harken LokHead™ Winch and ancillary rigging equipment in a safe, efficient and controlled manner

2.2 Operate Harken LokHead™ Winch in accordance with Company Procedures, task requirements, environmental conditions and manufacturers operating guidelines

2.3 Monitor Harken LokHead™ Winch performance and efficiency and adjust and / or respond as required

2.4 Assess and control / minimise potential risks to self, others and the environment

3.   Complete Harken LokHead™   Winch and ancillary rigging equipment operation

3.1 Identify and report malfunctions, faults, irregular performance or damage according to Company Policy & Procedures

3.2 Perform routine operational servicing and minor maintenance

3.4 Clean, secure and store Harken LokHead™ Winch and ancillary equipment suitable for storage and/or transport

3.5 Maintain Harken LokHead™ Winch and ancillary rigging equipment records, report faults, arrange for repair/replacements
