To be ready for use at a moment’s notice, response equipment must be carefully maintained, tested, and prepared. This foundational Response Equipment Training Course provides essential skills for preparing, inspecting, testing and maintaining, equipment specific to your role and industry.
Whether using fire response tools, breathing apparatus, gas test equipment, or chemical spill kits, you will gain practical experience in following organisational procedures and manufacturer specifications. Learn how to inspect equipment for damage, faults, and missing parts, conduct tests to identify defective or underperforming items, and accurately record test results. The course also covers interpreting Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for safe cleaning and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations on wastewater runoff and pollution, as well as storing equipment safely for future use.
This training emphasises Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols, focusing on reducing risk and promoting safe practices in high-risk environments. By completing this course, you’ll build a strong foundation for ensuring response equipment is safe, functional, and compliant- helping to prevent workplace accidents and supporting a safer environment.
Students will be required to hold the pre-requisite unit PUAFIR210 Prevent injury (for individuals undertaking training related to the fire sector as well as individuals undertaking RII30719 Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue).
