This is a non - accredited, competency-based industry training course.
It may be delivered by itself, or in conjunction with Nationally recognised training to deliver specific skills and knowledge for workers to undertake specialist work tasks.
The skills taught and assessed in this course are in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory Legislation & guidance, Australian/New Zealand/ applicable overseas Standards and industry Codes of Practice.
This course is applicable to personnel who are required to participate in a rescue or evacuation using, or assisting others to use, a pre rigged rescue kit, or for those required to supervise, manage, or provide safety role support to those workers.
This course addresses legislative requirements including reporting, rescue planning, risk management, human factors, equipment and rigging checks and the operation of a nominated pre rigged rescue kit in a range of scenarios with ERT & first responders.
Training is contextualised for rescue from Tower cranes in a range of environments.
It is delivered at your work location, subject to risk assessment.
The course is delivered in a 4 hour timeframe, where focus is on the care, use & maintenance of the pre rigged kit & practice drills in the use of the kit.
The course addresses the challenges of rescue from a Tower crane structure including from within and without tower sections & bridges, slew ring / turntables, operator cab, cantilevered, hanging & saddlebag platforms, jib and counter jibs and A frame gantry / tower apex.
You will learn the fundamentals of working as part of a first response rescue or recovery team including operating to a plan, personal and team safety, working with internal and external rescue Emergency Response Teams, communication methods & protocols, operating a pre rigged rescue kit for lift and lower rescue or evacuation, basic casualty management and introduction to working with stretchers.
Casualty and team welfare components includes the importance of the chain of survival, written and verbal reporting of incident details, maintain incident scene integrity and safety, reviewing incidents to improve own skills and response times, to recognise psychological impacts, and seeking help as required.
