Sydney Water maintain a Health & Safety Procedure, Confined Space Safety, which their employees and contractors are required to follow when undertaking work in and around Confined Spaces on Sydney Water assets.

This procedure applies to people who design, build, purchase and manage confined spaces for Sydney Water. It also applies to people who work in or on them, and their responsible managers.

People who do hazard identification & risk assessment (HIDRA), emergency response plans; and inspection, testing and monitoring, are the target audience for implementing this procedure.

This session focuses on orienting people to the requirements noted in this procedure and may be delivered in conjunction with Sydney Water approved Nationally recognised Confined Space related Units of Competence, such as RIIWHS202E Enter and work in Confined Spaces or MSMWHS Gas Test Atmospheres.
