Theatre Rigging Fundamentals
This course is designed to provide participants with the essential theoretical knowledge and practical understanding required to work safely and competently with rigging systems typically found within theatrical venues and live performance facilities

Focusing heavily on Work Health and Safety (WHS/OHS) compliance and industry best practices based on the LPA (Live Performance Australia) Codes of Practice, this foundational training is aligned with the critical knowledge areas necessary for undertaking specialised theatre entertainment rigging
.

It covers types of common rigging equipment along with their care, use and maintenance requirements. 

Fundamentals of safe rigging practice including calculating load requirements and safe working loads are covered.

The objective of this course is to enhance safety, reduce workplace risk, and stimulate training for professionals engaged in theatrical rigging activities.


This course may be teamed with Theatre Rigging Intermediate to create a one day course set.

Course Durations

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 4 Hours

This course has no entry requirements and is suitable for entry level theatre riggers and those responsible for their supervision.

This certificate does not require renewal

There is a written questionnaire and a practical activity  observation checklist.

Photos and videos may be taken and retained as evidence by agreement.

This course does not lead to a nationally recognised certificate
